Arborvitae

The word “aborvitae” means “tree of life” and got its name because it contains Vitamin C; sailors suffering from scurvy drank tea made from it long ago. The Arborvitae bonsai is an evergreen cedar with delicate, airy foliage whose root systems grow shallow and wide, making it well-suited for use as bonsai. Arborvitae is pest and fungi resistant and very winter hardy as it can typically be found in nature on windy walls of cliffs.
